During the 2021 Covid lockdown I read the Varjak Paw books to my son. I loved them so much that I wrote two songs about them. One was Raised in Captivity (about the difficulty of communicating with someone you love) and the other was this one - A big epic about Jalal the cat sensei/guru. I have lots of ideas for a Varjak Paw musical or soundtrack.
